Sean P. Dunn

President

Sean P. Dunn is synonymous with integrity, intelligence and results in the halls of the Ohio Statehouse. He focuses on solving problems, not settling scores. This winning combination has propelled Sean and his firm to the top of an elite list of the most sought-after government experts in Ohio. After serving at global professional service firms, Sean founded Sean P. Dunn & Associates in 2002 to offer clients a smarter and more personal approach to government affairs.

Sean is known for his ability to navigate the most difficult complex legislative and regulatory matters, which often involve difficult legal aspects and potential public relations ramifications. Even his peers at other lobbying firms frequently recommend him to handle the most sophisticated government affairs challenges.

Prior to founding his own firm, Sean practiced law as an associate in the Government Affairs Group of Calfee, Halter & Griswold, LLP from 1995 to 2002. While at Calfee, he focused on technology, public utility, legislative, regulatory, and ethics matters. He was the lead attorney for numerous hard-fought zoning challenges across Ohio. Sean was instrumental in the passage of Ohio’s electric utility deregulation legislation and several pivotal reforms in telecommunications. Before joining Calfee, Sean was an associate with Squire, Sanders & Dempsey,  LLP, where he practiced in the Environmental Law Group.

He is a two-time graduate of The Ohio State University, earning a J.D. with Honors in Law in 1994, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Cum Laude with University Honors, in 1989.

Governor Mike DeWine appointed Sean to serve on his Executive Workforce Board, where he focuses on workforce strategies for recent high school graduates. Sean previously served on Ohio's Dangerous and Restricted Animals Advisory Board, and currently serves on the City of New Albany's Community Reinvestment Act Housing Council. He has supported the YMCA Youth and Government program in numerous capacities over the past two decades, including a stint on the board. Sean is an Ohio Commodore and a 1998 Leadership Columbus graduate.
